After working as an Art Educator for 8 years, I entered the School Counseling Profession for 25 more. Over my career, I worked with thousands and thousands of students and their parents/guardians. I’ve also raised two children and helped them navigate the challenges of navigating childhood through to adulthood. Between all of these experiences, I’ve learned a great deal and I find tremendous joy in getting to know students and helping them dig into and prepare for their future. I love working with all types of students but I especially love the students who haven’t always found school to be joy-filled, yet they want a good future for themselves. I do expect students who work with me to be open to understanding themselves better and to acknowledging their areas of growth. My hope is that every interaction I have with others, particularly in the counseling/consulting role, is that you leave the interaction feeling reassured but also challenged in meaningful ways.
